My cousin is a huge book worm and I would like to give her a book voucher for Xmas.

Can you recommend the best bookshop for variety and choice please? She likes to read all sorts of different kinds of books.

I'm London based.

Mucho gracias xxxx

Although worth checking. My cousin likes waterstones because she can use them online, I wouldn't mind the book tokens because if I shop online I use amazon whereas I am happy to go into any bookshop and potter.

Amazon

Honestly? I would give money. It's a voucher you can use in ANY bookshop.

AnneWentworth · 14/12/2013 08:20

If I get given money I just end up spending it on take away or bread/milk etc. rarely do I specifically go and spend the cash on me.

msmiggins · 14/12/2013 08:23

Anne I agree- if I am given money I spend it on the weekly shop.

Just love getting book tokens! I can take them to my local independent bookshop and have a long browse and chat to the owner. Then next door to the health food shop café where they make the BEST hot chocolate and start reading my pressie! Perfect!

Does she like paperbooks or ebooks?

If you know she goes to physical bookshops to buy actual books, the national book tokens sound good, but sadly that would be a chore to me as I would have to make a special trip to the city centre and pay for parking or bus fares to use it Sad.

While it pains me to say it, it if was me, an Amazon voucher would be far more preferable, as I could buy ebooks with it.

Oooh, a chance to support bookshops in the high street. Don't go with Amazon!

AnneWentworth · 15/12/2013 18:43

Book tokens don't have an expiry do they, so you don't have to make a special trip just pop in when in town?
