I just started reading a Cecelia Ahern book today (author of PS I Love You) complete chick lit drivel but sooo readable. Similar author is Sophie Kinsella (Shopoholic range, The Undomestic Godess). Again, chick lit at it's best. I've only read one Marion Keyes and would put her in the same category, incredibly readable, totally un-put-downable but total rubbish. Hey, what the hell, I still think it's better than watching TV all night.

Ian mckewan..though he's a bit inconsistant..

Milan Kundera, Hanif Kureishi and David Mitchell always!

marion keyes..as 'albert' says, is vey readable..and can't be faulted for an entertaing, or even 'holiday' read, but not the sort of thing you would ever read again.

If you like those sort of books you might like Cathy Kelly's books (my mum left one here recently) - light holiday reading sort of stuff, reminded me of Maeve Binchy a bit
