I was feeling tired, overworked and frazzled. That quiet time of the evening came. I poured a glass of wine, and picked up Lavender Days: A life-affirming Anglo-American affaire in Provence. Pure escapism! I was quickly and completely drawn into the compelling love story, and read it in one sitting. It gave me lots to think about. A single mum with her young daughter, struggling with the universal question: should she follow her head, or her heart? It really came through strongly that this novella is based on a true story. It is genuinely touching. 10 on the Aaaaah scale!
I got my copy here www.robinsquire.com/ (recommended by my neighbour)
For about the price of a glass of wine, Lavender Days definitely boosted my spirits more!
I've decided that I prefer reading in the evening, rather than watching all the doom and gloom on TV ...
I love this type of Feelgood book. Can anyone recommend some others?
