Can't remember the name or author of a book I read

I read a book a few years ago which I really enjoyed . I was telling my daughter about it the other day but couldn't remember who wrote it or what it was called. It was basically about how when you die you get to find out the reasons why, for example, somebody stopped talking to you or did something to upset you, what they were thinking at the time etc. In the back of my mind I feel it might be a Cecilia Aherne book but I'm not sure. Can anyone help?

The 5 People You Meet in Heaven, by Mitch Albom who wrote Tuesdays with Morrie?

If it wasn't that, worth a read as it's not dissimilar...

was it set from a mainly male or female perspective?

I loved that book. So much so, I lent it to my sister in law and never got it back! I think she lost it.

It's a great, philosophical read. I think I'm going to buy a few copies and give it as Xmas presents this year. Very moving and as far as I can tell, an original story.

Yes,it's actually changed the way I process gossip, people's attitudes towards me etc.I always think now obviously there is a reason they are being how they are and unless I know the reason from them I shouldn't judge them. My daughter (16) said something the other day that reminded me of it and I think it would be a good life lesson for her to read it.
