Just finished the Poinson Tree and totally stuck for the books now.

Also really enjoyed Black is the Color, Tideline and books by Lesley Glennister. Any recommendations available on kindle very much appreciated.

Thank you.

I really enjoyed books by Nick Stone.

Mr Clarinet, King of Swords and Voodoo eyes. They are best read in order as the follow on from each other.

Really worth a read

Elizabeth Haynes "Into the Darkest Corner" was as good as The Poison Tree and it was quite cheap too as she's not that well known an author x

DuchessofMalfi · 06/11/2013 22:25

Blacklands by Belinda Bauer. Tense thriller set on Exmoor. It's very good.

NellVarnish · 06/11/2013 23:10

Yes to Elizabeth Haynes. Unputdownable and quite chilling. I've just finished Broken Harbour by Tana French which was also good. Oh and The Wicked Girls by Alex Marwood, a recommendation on here, really enjoyed it.

MrsBradleyCooper · 07/11/2013 09:24

Agree with Into The Darkest Corner. Have just finished another Erin Kelly - The Burning Air - also good. Others I've enjoyed are Close My Eyes by Sophie McKenzie, Cuckoo by Julia Crouch, Before I Go To Sleep by SJ Watson and Sister by Rosamund Lupton.

Currently reading Kiss Me First by Lottie Moggach so will update when finished!

MrsBradleyCooper, are you me?

I've recently read all of those books and loved them :)

Ikabod · 07/11/2013 14:36

I've just finished Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I read 2/3 yesterday and finished it this morning (I'm off work at the mo). Loved it. My husband is listening to it on Audible and is enjoying it too.

Until You're Mine - Samantha Hayes.
Alys Always - Harriet Lane.
The Playdate - Louise Millar.

claretandamberforever · 07/11/2013 20:33

oooh Minette Walters' early stuff too, like The Sculptress. her more recent stuff was a bit meh.

MerlinFromCamelot · 07/11/2013 21:28

The next Louise Millar one was good too. Accidental? Coincidental? Something like that.

MrsBradleyCooper · 08/11/2013 17:37

Grin bottleofbeer! We obviously both have amazing taste!

BaconAndAvocado · 08/11/2013 21:23

You have another literary doppelgänger here MrsBradley

I've just finished Alex by Pierre Lemaitre, would definitely recommend for lovers of afore-mentioned books, superb twists and turns.

bimblebee · 09/11/2013 11:14

Merlinfromcamelot, I have just finished the Poison Tree too - really enjoyed it and also wondering what to read next. Have you tried any Barbara Vine/Ruth Rendell? I don't like all her stuff (hate Inspector Wexford) but Barbara Vine's 'A Fatal Inversion' is really good, quite similar to the Poison Tree in some ways, also The Bridesmaid was quite good I seem to remember.

MerlinFromCamelot · 13/11/2013 21:25

Thank you bimblebee. Have added "A fatal inversion" to the list.
