Recently out, by J B Bullen. It's had good reviews, but has anyone here read it yet? Subtitled The World of his Novels which is a subject which really appeals to me.

Maybe I should ask Father Christmas for it?

Haven't read it but its certainly going on the list, big Thomas hardy fan, novels and poetry....yes maybe Santa will surprise you with it ;-)

I'm hoping to spend a few days in Dorset next year, visiting Thomas Hardy places so it seems to be a good one to have. I recently bought the Oxford Reader's Companion to TH which is good for dipping into.

Will definitely be asking Father Christmas Smile

I haven't read this one but very much enjoyed Claire Tomalin's biography of him.

Yes, I enjoyed that, too. I'm hoping the Bullen one is different enough to justify the price.
