Have just finished this book and I couldn't put it down.
Its set in a boys grammar school in the present day but featurse a latin teacher who is approaching retirement and struggles with the ICT.Very well observed _ I work in a school and know a few similar chararcters.
The main plot in about a revenge. Its a thriller but very enjoyable too.
The author also wrote Chocolat.

I loved this book. Quite different from the others but still fabulous. Kept me guessing the whole way through - very intruiging. Well worth reading.

I heard JH interviewed on the radio a few months ago talking about how she had no idea who this Johnny Depp lad was that had been cast in Chocolat but from the pic on the website she didn't really think he was her cup of tea...Then she met him in the flesh at the premiere (having been suitably updated on exactly who JD was), found him to be quite lovely in person and was mortified when he introduced himself saying Mrs Harris, I do believe I'm not your cup of tea... She was mortified!

Yeah, just read it and it was fab. It is amazing how different in style it is to the other books but still really rich. Iloved it couldn't put it down and the house turned into chaos.

Oooh it is gripping, 3 of us read it in my house in about 2 weeks and we all loved it. Very very cleverly written.

I loved JH's first 2 or 3 books. Then I felt she went off the boil a little. But this book is fabulous, could not put it down and read it in 24 hours, then felt bereft at having finished it! great twist eh?
