Advice on writing Biographical details

AbsyFocker · 25/10/2013 08:24

I was going to post this in creative writing, but it seems to have disappeared ...

anyway. I am now READY to send out my manuscript etc., but the agency i'm looking at asks for biographical detials.

Any advice on how detailed should it be, and should it be in first or third person? I started writing it in the third person "Absy was born in ..." and felt like a twat.

TIA

A paragraph is fine, unless you have also cured cancer and served undercover in Syria. Mention any previous writing achievements and anything amusing about your life (worked as embalmer, grew up in Antarctica, breeds prize pythons or whatever), but otherwise keep it fairly short and simple.

I'd definitely go with third person, looks more professional. Imagine someone else is writing about you!

thanks! Yeah, while it is weird to write about myself in the third person I can see why it makes sense professionally.
