The biggest hint yet, that Harry Potter will get to join Dumby & Co. at the end of book 7:

I always thought he had to die because JKR was adamant she would never write about him again.

expatinscotland · 27/06/2006 09:19

I wouldn't, either. I'd just kick back and enjoy my millions!

Besides, he's had a rather miserable life. I think I'd be happy to pop my clogs, too, if everyone I ever really cared about were dead.

I think Hermoine's going w/him, tbh.

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 27/06/2006 09:21

He's a horcrux or whatever its called, he's got to go!

fuzzywuzzy · 27/06/2006 09:26

Jimjams apparantly he's not a horcrux....then again his scar may have something to do about it

MeAndMyBoy · 27/06/2006 09:27

Yep JimJams that crossed my mind after reading the last book. Nasty/clever twist - IYSWIM. . But does that mean that Hermonie or Ron have to be the ones that kill him - do you think Dumbeldore is really dead - hope so cause the chap playing him now is awful. Richard Harris was fabulous .

expatinscotland · 27/06/2006 09:30

Dumby is DEAD!

Nah, he's not a horcrux, Voldy was actually trying to kill him.

BUT I think it's going to be impossible to kill Voldy w/o Harry dying as well.

I think she's gonna let Snape off, tbh. He'll be the next Voldy.

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 27/06/2006 09:34

I always thoguht Harry would die he's too close to Voldermort to live, and I think Ron might die too.

expatinscotland · 27/06/2006 09:37

you know, fuzzy, you're right. it'd make more sense for ron to die, too. then harry would really be in the company of all his best pals.

would free hermoine up to marry viktor as well.

tortoiseshell · 27/06/2006 09:46

I think Snape will die helping Harry to kill Voldemort. And there is something significant about Harry's parents' address - Godric Close or something like that (Godric Gryffindor?).

expatinscotland · 27/06/2006 09:51

Godric's Hollow.

Harry is probably Griffyndor's heir.

I think Snape made an unbreakable vow w/Dumby and cannot kill Harry.

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 27/06/2006 09:54

Snape is misunderstood, I think he'll be helping Harry get rid of Voldemort but it'll end up with Harry going too.

I'm pretty sure Snape prevented Harry from saying an unforgivable curse because he needs to have his soul in tact for the final confrontation....

expatinscotland · 27/06/2006 09:57

I don't think there's anything good about Snape. In fact, he's shaping up to be worse than Voldemort and I think he's hoodwinking him (Voldy).

I think he'll take Voldy's place b/c the age old struggle btwn light and dark forces must continue.

JK Rowling's probably a secret pagan.

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 27/06/2006 10:03

See I told you he's misunderstood , He had to kill Dumbledor becasue he made the unbreakable vow with Malfoy's mother. He didn't realsie what it was her son had been set to do.

I only say this because there's always been this huuuge fuss about Dumbledor's ability of character asessment. Remember he was the only one who suspected Voldy when the school teachers thought Voldy was lovely as a pupil at Hogwarts. And it was Dumby who kept Hagrid on after he'd been falsely outed as murderer.....

MeAndMyBoy · 27/06/2006 10:06

Don't like snape could well see him taking over from Voldy. But there must be something good in him cause I think he's in love with Malfoy's mum

expatinscotland · 27/06/2006 10:07

He knew damn well that Malfoy was supposed to kill Dumbledore. He even told Narcissa, 'I think he (Voldemort) means me to do it'.

I think Dumbledore knew, too, but he was old and knew his time had come.

Snape never permanently harms Harry, even though it's very obvious he hates him, and, as Harry pointed out, people Snape hates tend to wind up dead.

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 27/06/2006 10:08

He ain't in love w/anyone! C'mon, people! Why ruin a good thing w/silly romance?

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 27/06/2006 10:08

Nah I think he fancied harry's mum that's why he's so vindictive about harry...

fuzzywuzzy · 27/06/2006 10:11

Narcissa never told Snape what her son was meant to do she assumed Snape knew what it was, because that's the way Snape made it look.

I don't think Voldermort told Snape either it would have been mentioned....

expatinscotland · 27/06/2006 10:12

If it'd been mentioned then it would have blown half the suspense in book 6! That's why it was only hinted at.

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 27/06/2006 10:16

Do you think when the book finishes JK Rowling will replace the good and evil characters immediately?? I assumed from the article she didn't want any loose ends lying around.... in which case Snape will have to kick the bucket too if he's a voldy wannabe.... still think he's misunderstood and a triple agent or whatever

Nah, Ron's going w/Harry. Just like Siris and James - reunited in death.

OP posts:
tortoiseshell · 28/06/2006 19:01

Snape is definitely in love with Lily. Also, there is something VERY odd about that whole Half Blood Prince business - Harry thought it was his father's book, but Lupin said it couldn't be because of the date in the front, which was 20 years or so prior to him being at school. BUT Snape was at school at the same time as Lily and James. Weird detail to put in if not significant.

Also, lots of mention of Lily being good at charms. And the phoenix is supposed to be significant.
