Hi all, does anyone know of a good book that explains which foods are best for you, have the slow release effect, bad for blood sugar levels and states all the vitamins per food etc?

I haven't been able to find the time to browse the book stores and searching on the web only gives a brief summary (nothing like looking through a book before buying)...

Heeeelllllpppp please

try "The Food Doctor for Babies and Children" by Vicki Edgson. My sis bought me this for Christmas and it's very good. Lots of nutritional info.

Karen 99, do u have a low blood sugar problem??

Karen99 · 18/02/2004 10:42

I think so, but never diagnosed. So I wanted to read up on it more and choose better foods for DS so he doesn't get the same "rushes" I get. Also mum said things like "give him weetabix rather than cornflakes as it will take longer for him to burn up and make him feel more full, whereas the cornflakes come and go really quickly". Just wanted to know where the knowledge was behind that. Seems to fit in with the GIndex.

also nutritionist Jane Clarke has a good book - Bodyfoods, which looks at specific conditions & which foods affect you, plus some recipes at the back. we made the flapjacks with apple puree in the middle last week, a great success for me & dd1!
