Graham Masterton fans, slither on over here!

It seems not enough people have heard of Graham. I am a massive fan I have read nearly all of his books.

I've got a few favourites.

Ritual,mirror,hymn and I really enjoyed his Katie Maguire book.

So what's your fave? Lets talk Graham!

I read White Bones earlier this year, and although i really enjoyed it, i had to do the reading equivalent of watching tv from behind a cushion at some if the gorier chapters ??

Then I'm guessing you haven't read ritual or family portrait? If you don't like gore I would avoid those ones.
I have a pretty high horror threshold but I feel sick at some chapters from those books.
You might like his sissy sawyer series or the Nathan parker series. They have a more 'detective' feel to them.

I think i have another one of his on my kindle, but in true ordering kindle books fashion, i can't actually remember the title! I will give it a go, but if too gory, may well try the more detective style ones. I enjoyed his style of writing and most of the content, but as i had come to him through the Shetland series by Ann Cleves, it was a bit of a shock!

I have Famine in my shelf waiting to read.One day.When I get time.

Flesh and Blood is one of the scariest books EVER.

That little boy in mirror gives me the chills so bad.
Has anyone read death trance? Its so spooky,so gory its almost beautiful.

I've read most of his stuff, I think The Devils of D-Day is probably the one which freaks me out the most.

Interesting combination of "works" he does. Horror fiction + factual sex therapy! Grin

My DH is a huge fan of his, and knows him slightly. I'm not so much but I do like the Harry Erskine character.

But, claim to fame - I have a signed GM manuscript. DH gave me it for my birthday a few years ago - to be honest I'd have preferred something by James Herbert

I read ritual about 11-12 years ago and its stayed with me all this time. Shock factor off the scale. One of the most disturbing books ever. That is the one with the cult to baron samedi isn't it?

It's years since I read a GM book but I loved them
So much more gory and more interesting characters than other horror writers. I loved the ones where they went off during their dreams and the one with the mirror. They had good raunchy bits too I think?

marrisa correct! Truly disturbing book.

GM writes great sex scenes he used to write for Mayfair back in the day.

saski I am Envy. You are so lucky to have that.

GMs wife passed away in 2011 when i read about it I was so sad,she did alot to get his books published in Poland.
The chosen child which is set in Poland is a good one.

I love Prey,set on Isleof Wight.

Also one about parallel worlds, set in London.
Have got first Katie McGuire on kindle and just got second in library,so needto make a start!

Doorkeepers I think its called, it was good to read one set in the UK. He's British anyway but targets American audiences for most of his stuff.

Yeah in prey that brown jenkin was a little freak wasn't he? He pops up again in the latest night warriors book.

I've not started the new Katie Maguire yet either its still too dear on kindle.

Now 3/4 of way through the first Katie McGuire.
It is good,very aimed at American market though,American spellings and 'pantyhose' .
I think I have figured out who is behind it all though,but will definitely read second one.

Its a great book. I got really annoyed cos its actually one of his older books re published under a different name. When I saw it crop up on kindle for 89p I was delighted til I realised I read it years ago.

I love his books.

Anything with Harry Erskine in it is great as far as I am concerned. Ritual is the one where buildings start to get dragged underground isn't it?

And I liked the Night Warrior books.

Which one had people in a disused asylum disappearing into the walls? They were singing the 'lavender blue' song.
