I've noticed some children's stories are written in the present tense..

..and I don't like it! It sounds sort of weird. I always change it to the past tense as I'm reading it. Very odd.

have come across some novels in the present tense too - damned modern authors and their newfangled ideas...

Too right mrsB. Stories should start 'Once Upon a Time'....not in the here and now.

I do know what present tense means but I cant picture it being annoying, can you give me an example, I am curious! :)
