What shall I read next

Just finished Light between oceans last night. What a beautiful book. Now in that horrible stage where nothing is going to follow it...
Choice of books on my shelf are

The book thief
Heft

Maps for lost lovers

Ideas/help please!!

I thought The Light Between Oceans was a wonderful book. One of the best I've read this year, if not the best.

It's going to be a hard act to follow. Nothing else is going to feel quite as good as that one next.

If you choose The Greatcoat, which I have also read, I don't think it worked well as a ghost story - not in the least bit scary. But it is an interesting study in loneliness and what the mind can do in that state. Worth a read, and it is very short.

Heft is very good

I loved The Book Thief. I haven't read The Light Between Oceans but it is on my wish list. Can't wait to get it now.

Yes I think I will go for The Greatcoat, I love Helen Dunmore.
Will leave a few days to get The Light between oceans out of my system.
Apparently Dreamworks have bought the film rights. I'm already imagining who will play Izzy and Tom....

Heft. I have it out the library at the moment. (Along with 17 others I'm never going to get round to reading)
