Anyone read it? what do you think?

It's one of the first fiction books I've read in a long time and feeling a bit....footholdless. I usually really like A.S. Byatt too! I do like the writing, about the snake and the thin little girl etc.
Never liked fantasy, not being transported by these myths.

I like AS Byatt but really didn't like this, even though I like myths and things.

Yes, read it last year. I really liked the myth parts, and I can see the thin child story was interesting but it didn't pull me in. In the end I found myself rushing those bits to get onto the myths.
