I've seen the first of these in our local charity shop. I thought it looked good, but I've always found historical fiction difficult to follow. So are they fairly easy to follow or not?

I'd say fairly easy really - I loved them. Why not give the first one a try (I thought it was the best)?

I read a lot of historical fiction & I've read the whole series of these. I thought they were a great read & I really enjoyed them. They are very evocative of the period in which they are set & are very well written.

Ok you've convinced me to give them a try.

They're great, I've read all of them now. Also I didn't read the first couple in order and it didn't matter too much.

Really good and once you read one they are addictive

You were all right I got the first one yesterday afternoon and am halfway through it already.

Glad you are enjoying it. I really like them but they are well written so are not necessarily an easy read, but still very enjoyable :)
