Need to share my excitement about old books

I love old, musty copies of books or versions with interesting covers.

This year I have started reading the Hercule Poirot novels in order but have been picking up old secondhand copies when I see them at book sales etc.

I have just bought a 1928 edition of 'The murder of Roger Ackroyd' and am huge excited and needed to share. DH lacked enthusiasm.

Yes, totally agree, it's something about the smell, the often beautiful designs and the fact that someone has obviously loved them before.

I recently bought several books I'd read as a child, delighted to find old and musty copies of them.

I also have a few books which belonged to my grandmother and great-grandmother, a real link with them as both died before I was born.

That is so lovely. My grandmother passed away a couple of years ago and I was allowed to go and take her books. Nothing particularly old but lovely messages etc inside which is nice.

I ordered the book online so am really hoping that they haven't just used the picture and it is really a different edition.
