homeopathy - any book recommendations?

Want to get a book, would like a good section on pregnancy/childbirth and one for remedies for babies/kids/family ailments?

luna: I've got "The Family Guide to Homeopathy" by Dr Andrew Lockie which I like. I'm not sure if it's the "best" out there or anything, and he doesn't particularly commit to a single remedy (it's quite thick with explanations about how it all works which are worth reading rather than just flipping to the section and coming up with an instant remedy).

I find it well written, packed with information without being overly dry, and a very good index/contents section to find what you need in a rush (DO read the introductory chapters first though). It also gives very good advice as to when only a professional homeopath will do, which I think is essential.

I know there are mumsnetters who are training to be homeopaths so they may be able to give you a better recommendation. :)

Personally, this - The Element Family Encyclopedia of Health \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1862043019/qid=1148591991/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_0_1/202-0452962-0443832\here} - is always where I go first. The best thing about it is that it also tells you what an orthodox doctor will say or do (and tells you when to hotfoot it to one). Lots of people swear by Miranda Castro on homeopathy, but I haven't got any books by her. I have various other all-round 'natural health for children' books - if you look in a good health shop you should see a few. I think there's one called 'What Really Works for Children', for example.

I use it for so many things, not just about nice smelling rooms and massage oils. There are things in there that really work for leg sprains, bruises, sore throat gargles, hair lice (!), getting rid of mice in the home, fly spray, anything and everything to do with the home, medicinal, cleaning, freshening and just plain unusual. Worth a look!

The only book you need ever read regarding homeopathy is 'Bad Science' by Ben Goldacre. It had me in stitches.
