Have just finished How to be good and The woman who went to bed for a year. Absolutely loved them both, right up my street. Not sure what genre you would call them....can anyone recommend some easy reading books that are similar, cheers

I love everything by Nick Hornby, have you read his others? A Long Way Down was good. I like this genre too and struggle to name it.

Thanks Mrs Elf....I've got a feeling I might have it in a bag of books in the attic...will go and have a rummage. Just ordered Fever Pitch and High Fidelity on ebay. Read About a boy a long time ago. They are nice easy reading.

I wasn't very keen on How to be good so haven't read any by Hornby since, but I loved About a Boy, Fever Pitch and High Fidelity. I have A Long Way Down by him too, haven't read it yet though.

LOVED About A Boy and High Fidelity but didn't like his others. Love the film of About A Boy too.

The Guernsey Potato & Literary Appreciation Soc was a good read.

How about Libby Purves? Easy to read but well written and involving.
