I have recently read:

Gone Girl
The White Lie
100 year old man
A Street Cat Named Bob
The Poison Tree
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry
Before I go to Sleep
Starlight

I have a kindle and a 4 month old so I'm devouring books like I did when I was a teenager: )

I'm not a 50 shades kind of person and I'd rather not read anything sad.

What would you recommend?

Thanks

Our top read recently has been After the Fall by Charity Norman, gripping read set in New Zealand. And we are just reading Ellis Island and City of Hope, (County Mayo and NYC) - engrossing early 1900s. Hope that helps!

Some books I have recently enjoyed and may give you some ideas:

The Tent, The Bucket and me - Emma Kennedy
The Paris Wife - Paula McLean (former MN bookclub book)
Scottsboro - Ellen Feldman
I capture the castle - Dodie Smith
Alias Grace - Margaret Atwood
The immortal life of Henrietta Lacks - Rebecca Skloot
The Pirates Daughter and The True History of Paradise - Margaret Cezair-Thompson
The Secret Life of Bees - Sue Monk Kidd
Restless- William Boyd

hope you find something to enjoy!Smile

I am really enjoying 600 Hours of Edward at the moment.

I second Scottsboro and Restless and would also pitch in anything by William Boyd especially Any Human Heart,

I've just checked out Scottsboro and Restless and they both sound fab! I'll have a look at some of the others too
Thanks: )
