Barbara Cleverly (English writer) writes about the early C20th. Some novels set in Raj India, some in London, a couple in France and Greece. Really likeable (and fit!!) hero called Joe Sandilands, no sex or swearing, suitable for all age groups. Proper whodunnits with interesting motives. And really well researched (perfect for pedants like me!)

And several are currently 99p in the Kindle Store

which one's the best in your opinion?

First one (Last Kashmiri Rose) is the best Indian one. Not My Blood is best English one (but it helps that I am interested in the subject matter - DNA-type thing)

The Haunting of Maddie Clare by Simone St James
Think this qualifies as historical crime fiction but it has ghosts and it can be a bit "fruity" Blush
