Is it worth perservering with? I love historical fiction, I was really excited about reading it but its a bit meh.

Does it get easier? I feel like I am plodding through it.

Well I dragged myself through it and didn't enjoy it. Then, assuming there was something wrong with me, I pushed myself through Bring Up The Bodies and didn't enjoy it either. Wish I hadn't bothered really!

I found the first few chapters I had to work at but then I really got into it and loved it. One of the best books I have ever read

Yes, yes, yes. I found it difficult at first and, to be fair, there were some conversations I had to read several times to work out who was saying what. But I found this book totally compelling. I'm normally a bit of a skip reader, someone who doesn't appreciate unnecessary detail, but I lapped up every word. There were some paragraphs I read several times, simply because I found them so delicious. This is one of my favourite books and I'm a bit disappointed that she was persuaded to change her approach for Bring up the Bodies, which I haven't yet read.

I loved it - so would say persevere but it does get very strong reactions both ways so don't force yourself to get to the end if you are really hating it.

I loved the first third but have got stuck and given up. It's Anne Boleyn's fault.

I loved it. I struggled for a while but when I got into it I thought it was one of the best books I've read for a long time.

i loved it as well as bring up the bodies, but as others have said i did have to push myself to get into them both

it helped reading wolf hall on two long plane flights - nothing to distract me so i was properly absorbed
