I've just finished reading this and it's one of the best books I've read in a long time.

Easy to read but a compelling story of a a woman in the US who dreams of becoming a surgeon. Not sure if I understood all of the Civil War history but it was a really good read.

Has anyone else read it? I would thoroughly recommend it.

It read it, might add it to wish list now! I have just finished El Narco, about Mexican drug war. Unbelievable. Then I read A Streetcat Named Bob. Very sweet but not meaty!
