I read Flambards when I was a teenager and loved it. This is only the first novel in the series though. Would be a huge bargain if it was all of them - too much to hope for from Amazon :). Loved the tv series (from the 80's) too. I still remember that haunting theme tune that went with it. Nostalgia trip ....

I know - shame the rest are 4 pound something each.

Thanks. I loved flambards.

MorrisZapp · 02/11/2012 20:11

Never read it. Sell it to me?

Notquite · 02/11/2012 20:11

I nearly rushed to buy this then remembered that I've still got a 40-ish yo paperback. I loved K M Peyton.

Morrus..

Orphan girl goes to live with crusty uncle in mouldering stately home. 2 cousins (fell in love with Will). Lots of horses. Turn of 20th century, eve of first world war.

Later books just as good with a bit of romancing love triangle stuff with horses and aeroplanes.

MorrisZapp · 02/11/2012 20:35

Ooh sounds right up my alley.

CoolBananas · 02/11/2012 20:41

Loved this as a teenager too!

Oh I loved these and did an author study on Kathleen Peyton for O level. I wrote to her and she was Lind enough to write back. Also read 'Why Didn't They Tell The Horses?' By Christine McKenna who played Christine, about how she had to learn to ride after getting the part by lying to the producers that she already could. (Just seen it's available on Amazon used for a penny)

TheSmallPrint · 06/11/2012 16:08

oh my god I remember this from when I was little and used to watch it on TV on a Friday evening (IIRC).

Pancakeflipper · 06/11/2012 16:10

Ooh ta for the tip off. I will get that tonight.
