I did.

Started off great. Went rapidly downhill from there.

The ending made me Hmm to high heaven.

I enjoyed it but completely agree with Bunny about the ending Grin

noddyholder · 16/10/2012 18:48

I liked it too

I'm stuck quite close to the beginning. Can't seem to get into it.

Read the sample for dark places and that sounds more my thing.

I've just started another series of books and Plame to try this again after those are done.

I liked it. Agree about the Hmm ending!

Just picked up my copy from the library this morning :) Looking forward to reading it.

Not read Gone Girl, that was the one I wanted to read but spotted Dark Places available in the library so borrowed that.

It felt very disjointed and unrealistic. I forced myself through it and did get a bit more drawn in during the second half, but only really because I wanted to discover what happened.

I thought the ending/outcome was ludicrous (clearly a theme with her books there then!), like the book fell over flat on its face, and the author just got a bit desperate and invented a last minute bit of the story to make it work out.

Seriously unimpressive. Now feeling a bit unsure about bothering with Gone Girl! Certainly I won't be parting with hard earned cash - either borrow from the library or wait for a Kindle price drop.

She's a new author for me, so I don't know what to expect. Still haven't quite got round to starting it yet :o Too much happening in rl this last week.

I read it very recently and loved it. I agree with the others about the ending, but very much enjoyed the journey getting there so it didn't bother me massively.

I have also read Sharp Objects and liked, going to do Dark Places soon.

I recommend it.
