Just finished Park Lane by Frances Osborne and looking for something similar to occupy my 35 week pregnant mind (in the few precious moments that I'm not running after a toddler!).
Any recommendations for something light yet absorbing gratefully received!

I have just finished The Season by Charlotte Bingham. Although it is set in 1913 to be honest. It is quite good and light reading.

If you want I can send it to you, I got it in a charity shop for 20p, if you want PM your address. (I won't be uspet if you don't want some strange woman on t'internet getting your address though ) Grin

Cazalet chronicles set about this time and onwards. By elizabeth j howard. I read them when I was pregnant and so did my sister. Absorbing family saga. Four books. Lots of characters. Family tree provided too. The light years, marking time, confusion and casting off. Lovely comfort / flu reading. nicely written.

Anything by F Scott Fitzgerald. Love The Great Gatsby.

Recent fiction - how about The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty. Not great literature but a good story.
