I don't know if this has been done before but with all the free content on kindle and some
Of it being dire I thought a thread could help find great books at great prices.

I also thought that people could say 'this book is only 20p - has anyone read it is it good?

I started it because

James Herbert - Ash
Is only 20p and I have bought it today
Please post your bargains!

:o bran. I love a bargain. Might get The Good Soldier too - I'd like to give Ford Maddox Ford's novel a go.

I'm reading Mariana by Susanna Kearsley which was 99p. Brilliant find and got me out of a readingdrudge. Definitely recommend this book. Time travelling and great characters.

TC Southwell does some good series (LOVED her Queen's Blade series) and although it doesn't appear that any of the Queen's blade stuff is free currently, her stuff always seems to have something with a £0 tag and is well worth looking out for :)

The first in the series is only 77p currently and the rest run to about £2.50 a book (but do come cheaper sometimes)

Patrick McCabe, The Butcher Boy, 89p
M J McGrath, White Heat 89p - first in series, crime novel set in the Arctic - probably as promotion for #2 which is just coming out but it sounds good - I also have 2 of her non fiction books and noticed when I looked this one up that she has written a non fiction book about the Inuit people living in the Arctic region.

Song of Achilles and Lace both down to 99p today. You can offset the guilty pleasure of Lace by getting a highbrow tale of Greek mythology. Everyone's a winner.

Song of Achilles is very good, pity they had to reduce it now, we read it over the summer for book group.

It's annoying when they reduce the price after you've bought something. I paid the original price for Song of Achilles. My new policy is to put everything I want into my wish list and then watch and wait for it to be reduced or appear in the kindle daily deal.

Duchess - that is the way to go. and I second bran's suggestion of ereaderiq. I have got loads off my wish list very cheap that way. Emailing you on price drops is very reliable. Often the price drop is only short lived, so unless you check your wish list every day you may well miss it dropping....

I also got the two Peter May books for 40p!! Hurrah!

If they reduce the price just after you bought it, you can return it via the Amazon "Manage my kindle" page. I think it allows you up to seven days. I actually did this when something I bought dropped the next day. Returned it, then re-bought at the lower price. I have no idea whether it can tell if you have read the book and if you are more than X pages through it, it won't let you do it....

I get the free ebook list from ereaderiq every day (and Daily Cheap Reads). I've amended to get notification of the price changes too. Thanks for the tip, Anonymous :)

Just wanted to say thanks to this thread I've just finished the Forgotten Garden and it was excellent, much better than the House at Riverton. Still only 69p as well.

I've also read this week, Purple by Graham J Sharpe, I would class it as Young Adult, but it was good, very original.
