The trilogy was being discussed the other night amongst a group of friends. 2 of the women had read it 2 of us hadn't. The two who had said the sex in it is just what most people do in the bedroom anyway? I didn't think it was? I must be very mis-informed? Now they've got me curious and I feel I must read them

My niece read them but only to find out what happened as she said it was hard going. She knew what was going to happen anyway but wanted to be sure. Loads of women I know have read them and rave about them. They all want a Mr Grey. This is making me even more curious.

I'm not buying them mind you. It'll be library or borrow. But then I feel like I'm conforming. It's bad enough that I've bought flossys. DS1 will totally disown me if he sees these lying around.

It's only a fad. It will pass. There are so many better books out there - read one of those instead :)

No, the sex is not what most people do in the bedroom. Unless I am horrendously out of date (early 30s)! It's kinky and below I've listed a few of the examples I can remember (I've read all 3).

It is kinky. eg - her left hand is cuffed to her left leg, her right hand is cuffed to her right leg and she is f**ked. I certainly don't do that! Neither do I spend an evening out with silver balls shoved up my fanjo. He has a "red room of pain" (I think) which contains a huge assortment of whips, S&M gear, all sorts of sex equipment and he does beat her with stuff. It is not remotely "normal", but I imagine there are thousands of people at this sort of stuff every day, even more now they have read about it in the book. Apparently sales of this sort of equipment have risen.
