Best free book podcasts?

Can anyone recommend any for an Iphone?

I've been using Librivox which has an amazing catalogue but does tend to concentrate overly on the classics. The pronunciation of certain words can be a little ....erratic, and the attempts at regional accents is quite outrageous Grin (the aged fisherman in Grimbsy in 'Dracula' is truly toe-curling!) But still good stuff.

Any others?

iTunes has some good ones, although of course it depends on what your tastes are. I enjoyed Wolf Brother by Michelle Paver (read by Ian McKellen) and Shadowmagic by John Lenahan, both very light reading (listening?) but I have a short attention span I guess! But it might be worth having a browse round...

Have you tried the radio 4 podcasts? Plenty of choice there even though not strictly speaking what you've asked for.

Not the same at all. But I have been listening to the OTR Old Tine Radio podcasts. Half hour radio plays.

Highly entertaining.

thanks

I have used ITunes though it isn't all that easy to search I find. That was where I found Librivox although the website is better for searching. Not that many stories or dramas I have found - but the search facility might be the issue there too.

R4 - love R4 but almost all the podcasts are factual/magazine programs not dramas. Apparently IPlayer is going to be downloadable soon.

I can agree with the regional accent attempts being shocking! The Yorkshire maid in The Secret Garden...shudder

Can't help with other free audiobooks, sorry :(
