I've just finished A Wanted Man.

Bought it last week and just looked at it happily for 5 days before starting to read it. 24 hours later - done.

I really enjoyed the affair, great book! Just finished his latest Jack Reacher, I feel a bit lost now

Me too, interested to see what Tom Cruise will be like as him.

I don't think I could bear to watch Tom Cruise playing Reacher. I'm offended at the thought of it, it's such cynical casting.

justanother - I'm starting to re-read 61 Hours and Worth Dying For. I think the timeline that the three books covers is about 10 days, isn't it? Poor Jack must be knackered.

I have the Deep Down short story on my Kindle still to read, but saving it. The other short story only took me about 20 minutes - I want to savour them but just can't stop turning the pages.

I really can't see how Tom Cruise will play a believable Reacher, not sure I can bring myself to watch it!

Chaos, I agree. I think any Reacher fan should just refuse to acknowledge the existence of that film.

I LOVE Jack Reacher, and I am really dissapointed that old midget chops will be playing him. I know Lee Child has no control over who plays the part, but he did sell the rights to TC's production company, so he should have bloody guessed that TC, with his enormous ego (and small feet) would want the part for himself. I think its a serious misjudgement, as most real Reacher fans won't bother with the film, I know I wont.

I am too skint to buy A Wanted Man in hardback, but have just discovered The Hard Way on my kindle, which I forgot I had bought/not read! Its really good.

Well I have just googled and had it confirmed. That's just not right.

I saw an interview with Lee Child where he was bigging up the star power of TC with a big smile. He must have been told he needs to be on message to get the big bucks it is presumably bringing in. The film co will know they'll get TC fans to go, some JR fans will go even if they're not keen, and so they can write off the others.

Killing Floor is my fave.

Another fan here. I have read the two short stories on my kindle recently and am looking forward to reading A Wanted Man. I knew it was coming out soon, didn't realise it was out already.

Liam? Not sure. Am thinking. Liam has such an intellectual look, whereas I see Reacher as very tall and muscular.

Liam Neeson is so obviously Jack Reacher but ... this is Tom's vanity project. He doesn't really look that short in film because they go to great lengths for this not to hippen. They dig trenches for the other actors, there's never a foot to head shot etc so although we all know Tom's tiny he won't look like tom thumb.
