Not a garden centre book but Toast by Nigel Slater is lovely . Full of food memories from the 50s . I loved it and so has anyone else I have lent of to . ( I was born in 1951 )

London based " I 'll tell your mother Bill Bailey" was also good and the " call the midwife " book Jenny Lee were set in early 50s . Don't know about photo type books but there must be some out there .

but for this particular person I have in mind i think i am after more of a picture / photo book....

Ah well try Robert Opie here Amazon sells the scrapbook. We went to his museum of packaging in Glouvester years ago.
