Has anyone else read these books?

I've recently read the Complete Maus and was blown away by how brilliant a story telling medium the graphic novel was to tell Vladek's story.

Yes I have. Incredible aren't they? I believe they aren't that well known so we should spread the word. Art speiglman is amazing.

Fantastic books (and I usually hate reading graphic novels or cartoons).

I loved them. I wondered though about the use of different species - I suppose it was a way of putting across how the Nazis saw the world. But it did seem to imply that there WERE unbridgeable chasms between the different species.
