I read it on holiday, really enjoyed it. As did my BIL, DH Grin

A refreshing change.

I've got it on kindle. Soon as I've read Agatha Raisin I'll be on it.

iMoustacheYouAQuestion · 27/08/2012 21:01

Been waiting for something to catch my eye after giving up on the awfullness that is 50 shades of shit. Just ordered this - so thankyou Grin.

halfnhalf · 28/08/2012 07:23

I think you're right - I was in Waterstones, wondering what to buy, when a total stranger (not an employee) almost insisted that I bought it. Unfortunately I bought The Song of Achilles instead.

indigotweets · 31/08/2012 00:13

Just finished it. Very funny, life affirming and also rather informative about modern history! A great read.

indigotweets · 31/08/2012 00:14

Missing it already!

BrummieBelle · 02/01/2013 17:28

I've just started reading this for my Book Club and am finding it very sweet so far. Now just need to think of more insightful things than that to say about it at our meeting!

Geekster · 03/01/2013 17:33

It's on my long to be read list, I got it for 20p on my kindle.

Roseformeplease · 03/01/2013 17:34

Loved it. My teenaged son is currently reading it too. Spent most of the New Year holiday trying to get friends to buy it!

elspethmcgillicuddy · 03/01/2013 17:53

I'm half way through this one too. I'm really enjoying it- it has ended a bit of a reading drought for me. Every night I find myself saying "I'll just read one more chapter...." Until I've been reading way past my bed time!

Pancakeflipper · 03/01/2013 17:56

Was on offer I think for the Kindle? I think I have lined up to read. Super as dragging myself through a current read just cos' I have read all the others they wrote - but you are pushing my loyalty Patricia Cornwell.

Timetoask · 03/01/2013 17:56

Thanks for the recommendation... will get it on my xmas present (kindle!!)

Needalifeagain · 03/01/2013 17:58

Agree completely. Lovely entertaining read. Highly recommend.

Virgil · 03/01/2013 18:03

It's a fabulous book. My book of the year and I've been recommending it to everyone

fifitrixibell · 03/01/2013 19:20

FairyChristmas · 03/01/2013 19:28

Just ordered this from the library - great to see it's been so well received!

webwiz · 03/01/2013 19:40

I'm reading this at the moment and have been recommending it to all and sundry!

lunchbox · 03/01/2013 19:48

Well I'm going to go against the popular opinion, I didn't like it. Read about a third and then gave up. Just couldn't get on with it

unexpectediteminbaggingarea · 03/01/2013 20:12

I bought this when it was deal of the day on Kindle. It was sweet, very funny in places, and I liked the unconventional hero. Not the best I've read but one of the most entertaining, certainly.

MrsBungleBear · 03/01/2013 20:14

Oh good, glad to hear it's good. I have it on my kindle. I've just finished my 3rd Kate Morton in a row. I am loving those books!

Geekster · 03/01/2013 22:41

The Kate Morton books are really good MrsBungleBear. I think the 100 year old man is still on offer for 20p if anyone wants it.
