Kidnap The story is Mrs Todd's Shortcut' and I agree that it's the same place she goes through when driving.

The other story you refer to is 'The Jaunt' - terrifying stuff. Sometimes I think he is at his best in short story form, it stops him from getting too wordy. Then he writes something like Bag of Bones, which is one of my favourites, and I start to doubt.

I think the underlying theme of this thread is that we all like the way King writes about people, there aren't many writers who do it that well.
