I would be sooo happy if somebody could name this family saga

I read it as a teen, so about 20 years ago, but had already been around a while then I think. I think it was about 7 volumes long. It had the rivalry between two brothers in it, loving the same woman, one character maybe being called Lenny. A lot was made of the character's red hair.

Anyone? Please?

Was it by Catherine Cookson? Sounds vaguely familiar.

Is it one of those Virginia Andrews series? They always had hair.

Or something by Jeffery Archer - the Kane and Abel series / sins of the father's etc that was about 2 brothers but as I read that many years ago too I can not remember ! So not much help ! Or was that Sidney Sheldon ? Suddenly doubting myself !

Is it the Jalna series about the Whiteoak family? One of the man characters was named Renny and had red hair.
