Where next after 'The Grand Sophy'?

After years of ignoring dear Mama's exhortations to avail myself of Georgette Heyer's literary offerings, I have, at last, delved into the delight that is 'The Grand Sophy'. Pray tell me, whither hence?

(Can't keep the pseudo Regency speak up without wanting DH to dress in pantaloons and Hessians).

Which is the next best one to read? Loving Sophy, and I'm only 75 pages in!

The grand sophy is one of her best, so a good choice for a first Sally into GH.

Try Black Sheep, Bath Tangle and Venetia. They all have feisty heroines.

For ingenues, Friday's Child and the Corinthian.

I love Cotillion, as well.

These Old Shades and The Talisman Ring are both good, but not set in The Regency.

I also like A Civil Contract, which is a bit different to some of the others.

Sylvester, Venetia , The Unknown Ajax. The grand Sophy is my favourite, she is just fab

You should (all) join us on the Georgette Heyer Book Club.

The Black Moth

These Old Shades

Devil's Cub

Regency Buck

An Infamous Army which is the last one, which has attracted less interest due to the socking great battle in the middle.

Powder and Patch is next, which is an early work that I will freely admit is not her best, followed by The Masqueraders, which has a fabulous and totally ludicrous plot full of crossdressing, highwaymen and Bow Street Runners - well worth a pop if you want to join in, although probably objectively not as good as Grand Sophie.

Of the ones mentioned by pps, I'd go for Cotillion, though most of them are great apart from the Black Moth.

I love Frederica & Arabella too.

I like Regency Buck best. Lord Worth is my ideal man.

Thanks all, am rapidly building a list!

(I 'fessed up to Mum and after she cackled and said I told you so several times, she gave me some rcommendations too. So nice to discover a 'new' author that has an enormous back catalogue!)

You've reminded me it's time I came back to the GH threads! Off over now...
