Ian Rankin - Inspector Rebus

I've been reading these books for about 10 years now, I always enjoy them even though I must have read them all at least twice.

Right now though I'm enjoying them more than ever. My life is going pretty badly at the mo, and I love to pick up one of those books and lose myself in it. No matter how bad things are for me, John Rebus is always lonlier and is always pissing more people off. And he always throws in a wise-crack for good measure.

In fact all the characters in the books are so flawed, and they just get on with their lives, generally trying to make other people's lives as difficult as possible.

It's so great - who'd have thought the only thing that could cheer me up would be stories of death and destruction

Rebus is a bit of an unfortunate misery-guts. A well designed character who also makes me feel that my glass is half full Grin

I hope it's just as good. I'm glad he's bringing him back though, I've never enjoiyed Ian Rankin's other books as much as rebus
