Embarrassed to admit this but actually quite enjoying 50 shades...

I really had very low expectations when my MIL (cringe) gave me this book but I have to admit I started it last night and whilst it will obviously not win any esteemed literary prizes and lacks depth and reads in places like a Sweet Valley High, I am actually enjoying it!.
It is not my usual read, I generally prefer literary fiction but as a compulsive, escapist read I think it is ticking the boxes.
Anyone else brave enough to stick their neck out and admit they enjoyed it?.

I'm on the third book. I have enjoyed it and so have all my friends. My mother is reading it. Little shame faced as now she knows what I've been reading haha :) harmless fun and heard a lot of talk of a film being made. Might get my dp to watch the film might teach him something :)

I'm just at the end of the third one but want to read that bit tonight

I read the last bit last night. My friend says that the writer will be writing more from christians point of view but she thinks its goingto be very dark. I don't think it will be as bad as she thinks :)

I read all 3 in a week on hols recently and boy did I wish the kids had a separate room Blush

iluvchips · 11/07/2012 14:01

I'm about half way through the first book and am loving it as a bit of easy-reading, escapism after the kids have gone to bed. Definitely different to my usual read..

Shakeypain · 11/07/2012 22:03

Hands up, my life feels slightly empty without Christian Grey!!!! I read all 3 books in 2 weeks - nothing seems to compare at the moment so any recommendations are much appreciated! Smile

I'm 2/3rds of the way through the 1st book and am enjoying it. It's not as filthy as I thought it was going to be - I'm more gripped by the romance and psychological aspect of the relationship. I thought I'd read it as the whole world seemed to have and I didn't want to be left out lol think there's more too it than it just being a naughty book.

lolajane2009 · 12/07/2012 23:45

lol read all in four days in the end
