...for a long flight. I need something nice and thick and absorbing that will just carry me away without me having to think too hard. Something along the lines of Jilly Cooper's Riders or early Jeffrey Archer or (from my teenage years) Valley of the Dolls or Judith Krantz. Thank you.

I loved Under The Dome by Stephen King

Do you know I've never read any Stephen King. Have I missed out there? I'll have a look on Amazon now.

it's definitely trashy, bit of sex, bit of violence and a totally OTT ending

BestIsWest · 21/06/2012 22:35

Sounds like a definite contender then. I'll download a sample.

I quite like the Stephanie Plum books - v funny, easy to read and not taxing at all

Stephanie Plum and/or Sookie Stackhouse. Trashy, easy to read, and very enjoyable. If you want an erotic paranormal romance, look for Shelly Laurenston. They are brilliant, funny and with well written sex scenes, and great story lines. Start with the Magnus Pack trilogy as they set the scene and introduce the world and characters for all her others.
