Have just finished this, and have to say I loved it! I've read quite a lot of people not liking it that much but it really got under my skin. Anyone else read this and enjoyed it?

I like it up until the chair part. I wish I had stopped reading with 30 pages to go.

sorry, posted too soon.

I loved the premise, and thought it was well executed. I have been trying to get back into reading after a long period of not being able to concentrate MN ruined my attention span and it definitely held my attention :)

I thought it was a well-written novel. I liked it also, but up to the point with the chair - I just didn't get that at all and it made me feel a bit Confused

OverflowingMum · 16/06/2012 11:44

Yes, I know what you mean. The chair but was sort of just one step too far. But then I sort thought about it being more sort metaphorical than literal and it kind of made a bit more sense that way. I saw the brother as a bit asd really (and a lot like my oldest ds) and kind of thought of the whole chair bit as him being somehow separate and different to other people, sort of outside the world a bit. Was quit surprised I liked it so much actually as I don't normally like anything that seems at all far fetched! I found it quite haunting and definitely a book that lingered with me for a while.
(I'm also trying to get back into reading having lost all concentration to 6 DC!)

You might also like When God Was a Rabbit by Sarah Winman - I loved it :)

I really liked it too. I was a bit confused by the chair bit, but took it metaphorically too.
I loved When God was a Rabbit. One of my favourite books.
