Books - do you read reviews, journals & magazines

Because I couldn't afford to buy all the books I want to, and wouldn't have the time to read them all either... I try and read lots of reviews and literary journals to help me narrow my choices.

Do you read any journals and if so, which ones?

These are two of my current favourites:

No I don't really read reviews. I do generally get books out of the library rather than buying them myself though. You can reserve via your phone and it's free!

I read reviews in the weekend papers (Guardian and Observer) and in any magazines I may buy. I also read reviews on Amazon and the discussions on here.

I read the book reviews on Goodreads and also on Amazon.

I read reviews on LibraryThing and do like to see them in the papers or magazines but usually just like to make my own mind up and take a chance. And I have a very reliable friend whose recommendations have never let me down yet.

I always look at the reviews in the Daily Mail on a Friday and make a note of any books that I fancy-I have a special notebook;how sad is that!!
www.lovereading.co.uk is also good;you can download extracts to read. Also a fan of Goodreads.

No I don't read them either. Read one book a month for our book group and then have very little time to fit in all the other books I want to read. Think that if I started reading reviews, journals and magazines I would just become frustrated with my lack of reading time.
