How's about Jill Mansel? Or the old fave Jilly Cooper? Sophie Kinsella's books are also great. (I've got loads of books and authors, can't remember them all now)

Can't knock a bit of Jackie Collins. Well, you can if you're after something deep and meaningful. Bit like a Hollywood, less well written version of Jilly Cooper. Read the Jilly Coopers first actually, then when you run out try Jackie.

Jilly Cooper - Polo is the best - and definitely Sophie Kinsella. I normally don't like chicklit but I adored Can You Keep a Secret.

Jilly cooper, Maeve Binchey

Jane Fallon.

I like Claudia Carroll for some entertainment, maybe Lulu Taylor for some good old bonkbuster excitement (also Tasmina Perry). Don't pick up Marian Keyes for an easy read - her books are absolutely brilliant but she's mislabelled as chicklit in my view, and there tends to be quite a lot of dark stuff in there that might not be what you're looking for. They are hilarious, mind you.

How about the Queen & I by Sue Townsend? Not chick lit but it is a great light Jubilee read Smile.

Cally Taylor, Home for Christmas and Heaven Can Wait.

Well, I hate the term chick lit, but if you want light hearted, intelligently written novels that focus on relationships then you can't go wrong with Veronica Henry

tribpot · 05/06/2012 11:40

Yes, The Queen and I is great.

frazzled74 · 06/06/2012 11:08
