Would be interested in your views on this book, did you enjoy it?
I have got about half way through it & I am the type of book reader who is loathed to give up on a book.I like to see it through to the end.
But I have put it down ages ago and I keep thinking I need to pick it up again & persevere with it.
Is it worth it??

I managed a few chapters and kept putting it down. My dad managed to get to the end and said it doesn't get any better, just more of the same. Based on that I gave up!

candytuft63 · 01/05/2012 17:20

I got this with my Christmas book token.
I havent read it yet, It looks like it demands long quiet hours of attention.
Should have got something else, shoudnt I ?

Booboostoo · 01/05/2012 18:27

One of the best books I have read in a long while. Smile Just goes to show!

chickensaresafehere · 01/05/2012 18:52

It started out so well&initially I was gripped. It sort of lost me a bit when it jumped forward to the future&the survivors&their descendants were living in the fort, then it just seemed to drag.

I really enjoyed it - but I read it over one day and one night, so didn't think about it too much! I plan to read it again before the new one comes out. The end was a bit weaker but I was mostly carried along by interest in the characters.

wearytraveller · 01/05/2012 21:30

Loved it. Got totally immersed in it and found myself thinking of the characters long after I finished it.

bebumba · 01/05/2012 22:39

I got this as a present, probably something I wouldn't have chosen myself. I loved it.

chickensaresafehere · 02/05/2012 07:27

Right,on that,I shall give it another goGrin

Absolutely loved it. Does anyone know if he has published his next one yet ?

dublinrose37 · 02/05/2012 13:03

Read this as part of another book club I'm in and loved it...cannot wait for the next one to come out, think its due sep or oct this year. Its not the kind of thing I normally go for but it was wonderful.

IreadthereforeIam · 02/05/2012 13:23

I loved it, and can't wait for the next in the series to come out!

akaemmafrost · 02/05/2012 18:35

I thought it was great. Still remember the characters and storyline very clearly unlike many books I read.

Sunnywithachanceofshowers · 02/05/2012 18:47

I loved it. I'd definitely suggest persevering with it.

urbanturban · 02/05/2012 19:00

I'm with chickens in that I really enjoyed the first half but then struggled with the future and trying to follow all of the characters. Saying that I DID enjoy it and I think had I been able to read it over a couple of days (as opposed to a chapter a night when DDs were in bed) that I would have been more involved in it.

exoticfruits · 02/05/2012 19:04

I hated it and after ploughing through it will not be reading his next.

Sabriel · 02/05/2012 19:32

I didn't realise it was one of a series and forced myself to plough to the end. That was many hours I won't get back :(

AnyFucker · 02/05/2012 20:06

I just looked on his website

"The Twelve" is out on 16th Oct. I can't wait !

AnyFucker · 02/05/2012 20:07
