I was looking for some book recommendations as I've just finished "Me Before You" which I really enjoyed. I've recently loved The Help, Water for Elephants, Secret Life of Bees, Call the Midwife, Poisonwood Diaries, Twilights etc...
Not enjoyed so much were One Day, and The Slap.
Anything I should be reading that you loved?

I've just finished When God Was a Rabbit and loved it - we seem to have similar taste in books!

Thank you Cornish will go hunting, anything else while I'm at it?!

I've just finished reading The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides. I liked it a lot. I've also recently read When God Was a Rabbit - lovely book - really enjoyed it.

If you like thrillers - you could try Blacklands and Dark Side both by Belinda Bauer. They are both set on Exmoor - good to get a well written British thriller. Also try Sophie Hannah - also v.good.

How about The Paris Wife by Paula McLain, My Dear I Wanted To Tell You by Louisa Young, The Pile of Stuff at the bottom of the stairs by Christina Hopkinson, The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender?

I really enjoyed Me Before You, Call the Midwife and The Help, too.

Wasn't keen on One Day and couldn't get into The Slap.

Another one I enjoyed was "Before I go to Sleep".

Am way behind the curve - also didn't love one day... but just read we need to talk about kevin and was totally gripped.

I didn't think much of One Day either

Just finished When God was a Rabbit which I only really enjoyed the first half of.....perhaps it was just me. Am tempted by Blacklands, just really wanting a book I can "disappear into" if that makes any sense at all?!!
