anyone know this book pls?

my sister has asked to buy her a book
she doesn't know what it's called (of course)
it apparently has a giraffe on the cover (poss) and it's about someone in a coma who is still controlling the world around them
any ideas pls?

This has a giraffe on the cover and is v. popular, by Alexander McCall Smith, haven't read it myself.

Sounds like Alex Garland - The Coma, here - same chap who wrote The Beach.
Haven't read it but looks interesting.

The Bridge, Iain Banks? Have no idea why it would have a giraffe on the cover, so probably not.

I was wondering if it could be The Ninth Life of Louis Drax by Liz Jensen. Buy it for her anyway-- Liz Jensen is great.
