My sister has somehow managed to wrangle working remotely this summer and is off to Thailand in a week. There will be a lot of lying on beaches, the cowbag.

I need to give her her birthday present before she goes and I need recommendations for good beach reading :) Thankyouplease.

I like a good historically dubious historical novel. SArah Dunant? Jude Morgan? Actually, The Passion by Jude Morgan is bloody good.

You've reminded me I've got the Passion unread on my shelves somewhere, so I'll be digging that out for myself. Hmmm, what do you think of the Shardlake mysteries?

I'm not sure this is beach reading material, bu I've just finished reading The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson. It's bloody fascinating and a rattling good read.

We read one of teh SHardlake ones for book group. I enjoyed it, it wasn't as heavy as I thought it'd be and I liked the detail, whereas quite often I skim descriptions. A couple of my colleagues are SHardlake obsessives.
