The End really is nigh, isn't it? Smile I'm excited too - I have been reading The Wheel of Time for what seems like my entire life, and finally it is concluding. The only downside is that I'm sure there will be loose ends, and I'm not sure I can cope with that ...

Me too Pride. I like the idea of it hanging and not knowing what's going to happen but at the same time, I want to know what happens.

It'll be like a huge part of my life going

I am listening to them as audiobooks on my iPod - I wanted to re-read but couldn't see it happening, but I do want to be up to date for Memory Of Light to get the full impact!
I do really really want to know what happens, but I also want what happens to be the right thing,IYSWIM?

Yes definitely I do. I think or I hope it works. The new author jars slightly with some characters - not quite got things right but hopefully it'll be ok at the end!!! I started reading these books about ten years ago! I've invested a lot of time Grin

Smile

A friend who is also a fan recommended listening to the books - she said that because you've got the same narrators throughout the series it distracts from the fact that Brandon Sanderson does have a different voice to RJ.I don't think he has quite got Matt myself.

Been reading this series since about 1991 - nearly half my life at this stage. Cant wait til Tuesday but they aren't bringing out the e-reader/kindle version until May so I'll have to lug the hardback on the train with me every day. At least I can use my very snazzy "Turn the Wheel of Time" cotton bag I won to carry it (shameless boast Wink)

Iggly · 05/01/2013 07:43

Haha yes I'll be heaving mine about on the train too. Sadly it'll just be in a rucksack.

Oooh,it is nearly time!! And my life has suddenly gone a bit manic - when will I read it?

Iggly · 06/01/2013 18:39

I am half way through as book shop gave it me early Grin

You what? Thought there was an embargo. What shop where (doesn't matter to me as I'm not in UK.

Iggly · 07/01/2013 01:11

A few people have got it - the copies were sent out early and some places have just sold it. I don't think my small independent book shop even realised tbh.

So what's your thoughts on it? Without giving any spoilers. Won't be able to get mine until tomorrow.

Iggly · 08/01/2013 13:04

I enjoyed it. Although some bits were not as well done as others. Overall I was happy with the ending although the writing itself was a bit "off" in places.
