Elly Griffiths - anyone else reading and what do you reckon?

I loved her first one and really enjoyed the characters and the setting and so on. I've just read the fourth ... getting more and more underwhelmed. Is she writing them too fast or am I just a tetchy pedant (this story, unlike most of them, had bits of medieval referencing and while none of it was technically incorrect it wasn't good).

I want to like her books so let me know what you think. Oh - and Elly, if you are a MNer (which I wondered cos I noticed the cunning, but probably entirely coincidental, reference to a bunfight) - I do like them, really. I just, erm, want to like them more! Grin

LRD I've only read Crossing Places, and that was because I live in Norfolk, so can identify with some of the places mentioned. Really quite enjoyed it as a one-off, but not sure I was involved enough to want to know more.

Same here, I loved the first one and got the next two quickly but thought I would leave this series for a while.
Can I recommend Phil Rickman's Merrily Watkins books for a Good Read? I really like these books , different in a good way.
