Recommendation: gripping, gritty, British thriller

Just finished reading Taken which is the first book by Jacqui Rose. Great book, really gripping, un-put-downable and even better, it's only 99p on kindle.

SIster? Rosamund Lupton.

The WHisperer (Italian bloke, can't remember who). All about solving a child murderer. Too gritty for me, but was a book group book.

Also Ordinary Thunderstorms by William Boyd. Good portrayal of just how difficult it is to stay under the radar, even in a huge place like London, with CCTV, plastic trails etc
