I'm trying to remember the name of a book (well a series actually, I think they may have been 2 or 3 books), that I read about 10 years ago.

I'll try and set out what I can remember in the hope that somebody else might have read them too and be able to tell me the book name and/or author name as I'd really like to read them again. I'm sorry that the information I'm providing is rather vague though!

  • Sci fi/ fantasy genre, I seem to remember it was an adult book but it may have been aimed at teenagers too.

-I'm pretty sure it was either written by a Chris somebody or one of the main characters may have been called Chris.

-The characters are being chased/followed by wild huntsmen types on horseback I think (sort of like Wild Edric) through the British countryside, I seem to recall they were followed mainly at night and I think they may have travelled in tunnels underground too.

  • The bit that sticks in my mind the most is when they went/were chased to Edinburgh and they were hiding/hunting in the 'underground city' set in the hillside under the castle in Edinburgh.
  • There may have been a mention of Stonehenge being one of the places they travelled through.

Reading that back to myself it sounds such a vague description of a book I read such long time ago. Oh well, I can only hope!

Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry I can't help you with the title, but you could try posting it here as well

It's the end of the world series, with Laura, and Shavi and Ruth and Chris, and it will come to me any minute now Grin I read these, and they were good, but somehow just didn't "do it" for me, as I wanted them to. I kept thinking they should have been great rather than just good.
There are at least two trilogies, if not more by now...
Mark Chadbourne! They're by him. I can't remember which is which, but they're easy to search.

PomBear I love you!! I have been trying to remember the name of the book for bloody years! I'm amazed you managed to work out which book I meant from my garbled description!

Note to self: just ask Mumsnet!

Thank you, I shall go and hunt them out now and read them again Grin
