Just finished and loved Case Histories
What is the chronological order of the rest of the Jackson Brodie books?

It's:-

  1. Case Histories
  2. One Good Turn
  3. When Will There Be Good News?
  4. Started Early, Took My Dog

Hope you enjoy them pushing, I'm a big fan Smile

Yay! Enjoy; you've a treat in store Smile.

make sure you read Behind the Scenes at the Museum - it is her first book and WONDERFUL - I think it is my fave book of all time.

Busyoldfool · 23/03/2012 22:21

I love Kate Atkinson books and the Case Histories series was fantastic. (As was Brit Museum). Jackson Brodie - a fictional chahrcter to fall in love with there I think.

GreatExpectations2012 · 10/04/2012 14:44

Behind the Scenes was my first Atinkinson and lead me to the others. Truly wonderful and I feel quite jealous that you have so many to read.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/04/2012 14:50

I liked 'Behind The Scenes' and I like the character of Jackson Brodie but overall I think she is vastly over-rated tbh. Far too much reliance on easy coincidence. Not going to bother with anymore of hers.

'Human Croquet' is one of the worst books I have ever finished - I only finished it because I was on holiday and desperate (somebody had left it behind and I'd already read all 14 of the ones I'd taken!).

hackmum · 10/04/2012 19:52

Another fan here of both Behind The Scenes and the Jackson Brodie books.

Also, strangely, didn't like Human Croquet, but I do enjoy her in general.

NoraHelmer · 11/04/2012 13:54

I hated Human Croquet too, but loved Behind the Scenes at the Museum. Not quite so keen on the Jackson Brodie novels but they are still v.good.

fridakahlo · 11/04/2012 14:00

I'm obviously strange then as I love Human Croquet, I did read it as an angst ridden teen though.
But Behind the Scenes at the Museum was just an amazing read.
I really did not like the one with the dog on the cover (weird...?) But her short story collection is rather fabulous.
The Jack Brodie books I can take or leave.

MarySA · 16/04/2012 15:13

I really liked Case Histories. That's the only one I've read. I've had 'Started Early took my Dog' for a while but haven't got round to reading it yet. Has anybody read this one.

moonblushtomato · 17/04/2012 18:41

She's currently my favourite author - just wish she'd write something new!

Does anybody know when?

porcamiseria · 18/04/2012 09:00

very good, as are her other ones too
